If anyone deserves a nickname it is Wrestling. Football has won how many Cif titles? It is not even close what the most successful sport on campus is. Good to have you on the message board.
Football is working hard, they are just missing something. Maybe not enough football players are wrestling.
Talent means more than playing vs tough teams to get you ready for the playoffs, or who your coach is. If you don't have the talent, you cannot produce a CIF Championship. If there was one play that I feel caused Brawley to lose the Championship game to Valley Center it was the failed punt return that led to Valley Center's touchdown. Back-to-back years punt returns doomed Brawley Football. Against Steele Canyon the year before, it was two bad punt returns that led to two Cougar touchdowns. So maybe it was coaching that failed the players during those two losses...does the blame go to the head coach? Does it go to the special teams coach? Maybe special teams do not get the attention that offense and defense get. I agree that Brawley wrestling doesn't get the attention that Brawley Football recieves. Remember that Brawley Football has been popular since the 1920s. Football in general is more popular across the United States than wrestling. With this being said, more attention should come Brawley's way. Having a someone like Marc is a step in the right direction.
